bird, moo, cat, dog, and quack

lucie is saying her first words! well, kind of. she definitely means bird, moo, cat, dog, and quack (like a duck), though it would be hard to decipher to someone with an untrained ear. moo is her best word. and she can answer, "what does the cow say?". it is super cute and she is a really smart girl. for bird and quack, she makes the sign language motion too. trav and my mom are good about teaching her those signs. lucie loves cats and dogs, dogs especially, so she is really motivated to say those two words. she is really good at finding birds in the sky or tree too.
gosh, this is such a fun age!

under the sea

uncle tyler and aunt michelle visited us this weekend! it was really, really rainy on saturday, so we went to the academy of science and stayed there alllllllll day. we met tyler's old roommate, jordan, and his wife katie there too. the best part of the museum? astronaut ice cream!!!

the next day was sunny, so we headed to the san rafael farmer's market. we hadn't been there for a while, so it was nice to walk around and spend lots of money on produce. but it's local! and organic!
lucie and i made sure to hit up all the samples. the san rafael farmer's market is very generous with samples. that's why i like it!

it was fun hanging out with tyler and michelle! we can't wait to go down to sunny san diego and see them again!

all three girls had a hoot of a time waving around pom poms to the mickey mouse club record. lucie could shake those pom poms with the best of them!

little gymnists

lucie and i visited my sister and the girls a few weeks ago. we got to pop in on them at their gymnastics class. what an awesome place! if you know mira and may, you know they are little monkeys and erfect for tumbling around a [fully padded] gym. those girls already are so good at twirling on the bars, etc. lucie jumped right in. i think she'll be a good tumbler too. time to buy a leotard!


afterwards, we had a picnic in the park with some of my sisters friends. lucie and may showed us how well they share. though it looks like lucie is saying, hey, i thought this was my swing!

honk, honk

look what we got!


it's a hand me down from my boss and it was an instant hit. i wasn't so sure Lucie would like it, since she loves to be on her feet, but she loves it. i think mostly because it has a fun horn she can honk. the car is our new preferred mode of transportation to the park. honk, honk, out of our way!!

spa day

my parents got a new spa and we had to try it out, even though it was cold outside. but nothing beats the cold like warming up in the spa and then wrapping up in a cozy little giraffe blankie. snuggles!
