LA premiere
Lucie made her LA premiere visit last weekend. True to LA form, she arrived in high style, skirting the paparazzi, and headed right to Grandma Theobald's classroom. Grandma showed her off to her second grade class. As usual, Lucie loved watching the kiddos and the kids, especially the girls, thought Lucie was cute. She is!
Later that night, we relaxed at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Their neighbor, and really great family friend Barbara, finally got to meet Lucie. They hit it off! Lucie especially liked Barbara's necklace, but I heard there's a long line of people eying that necklace!
Lucie got to wear all her summer clothes one last time before winter, since it was 100+ degrees in LA! Luckily, everywhere in LA has AC, so we stayed cool.
Karen and Bob threw a magnificent BBQ in Lucie's honor that Saturday. Lucie got to meet all the family and friends from LA.
Lucie got to spend lots of time with Grandma.
And Dad sneaked her some beer. (Doesn't every parent have the "baby drinking out of the beer bottle" picture? Well, here's ours.)
When everyone first got to the BBQ, Luciewas a little wary and cried some big tears. But, after she warmed up, Lucie was very polite and smile at everyone.
She especially smiled with Great Grandma. They had a good time making silly noises. Great Grandmas are so much fun!
Lucie got to meet Erin, Travis's friend from way back when.
And, the most important guest (at least to Lucie) was Tahoe. Lucie really wanted to pet Tahoe, but Tahoe wasn't so sure. Lucie did get a few puppy kisses (which I quickly washed off! first child syndrome.)
And Lucie got to hang out with Uncle Tyler and Aunt Michelle, who hadn't seen her since she was 3 months old. For some reason, I don't have any pictures of them. I'll find some and post them ASAP. But here's a pict of the fam:
Later that weekend, we met up with Travis's junior high friends, Trisha and Erin. We went out to lunch at Blue Plate in Santa Monica. It's on Montana St, which is a really cute (read: yuppy) street sort of near the beach and sort of near 3rd St. Of course, I found a cute baby boutique but did NOT buy anything. At lunch, Lucie got to sit in a high chair, which happened to be a Handy Seat, the booster seat we have at home. It's all wood and clips onto a chair and is really cool looking and works great.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for an awesome LA weekend!
